What you will do

We have a vacancy for a Traffic Technician / Electrician based in Dublin, reporting to the Service Delivery Manager. This role operates on a permanent evening shift, with a 20% shift allowance applied to your base salary.

You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and fault response of ITS and associated electrical equipment, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard. Working both independently and as part of a team, you will support planned maintenance, respond to faults, and assist with project installations while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to contractual KPIs.

You will also provide technical support to customers and colleagues, contribute to successful delivery of new installations, and support the development of apprentices on site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing and maintaining ITS and associated electrical equipment
  • Carrying out planned maintenance and routine electrical testing
  • Responding to faults and callouts within contractual timescales
  • Supporting installation and commissioning of new project works
  • Maintaining accurate fault records and service documentation
  • Providing technical support to customers, trainees, and colleagues
  • Ensuring adherence to contract requirements and KPIs
  • Maintaining company vehicles, tools, equipment, and PPE
  • Supporting the development of apprentices and team members
  • Ensuring compliance with QHSSE regulations and safe working practices

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Complete planned maintenance and inspection activities
  • Respond to reactive faults and diagnose technical issues
  • Update fault management systems and service records accurately
  • Liaise with customers and the Service Delivery Manager on work progress
  • Ensure installations meet quality and safety standards
  • Maintain tools, spares, and equipment in serviceable condition
  • Ensure PPE is worn in line with RAMS and safety requirements
  • Complete timesheets, job numbers, and associated documentation
  • Support project delivery and commissioning activities

You may also:

  • Attend training courses and toolbox talks
  • Assist Senior Technicians with project completion and switch-on
  • Support on-site development of apprentices
  • Participate in standby, callout, or shift rotas as required

Shift Pattern:
Monday – Thursday: 17:30 – 02:00
Friday: 17:30 – 01:00
(20% shift allowance applied to base salary)


What we are looking for

Essential:
• Department of Education Leaving Certificate
• National Craft Certificate (Electrical) and/or equivalent
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work at heights
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work on a standby / callout rota / shift
• Full driving licence
• Strong safety awareness
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Problem-solving ability
• Adaptable to change
• Willingness to learn and undertake new challenges

Desirable:
• Experience in a similar role or within the traffic industry
• Understanding of ITS equipment installation and basic theory
• Electrical / Electronic Engineering background
• Practical experience in Electrical Engineering, Controls, and Instrumentation
• Experience working roadside with associated Health & Safety procedures
• IT skills
• Understanding of IP networks and configuration
• Full ‘C’ driving licence
• CSCS Signing, Lighting & Guarding at Roadworks
• CSCS Location of Underground Services
