Description

We have an amazing opportunity for a Product Support Engineer to join our Engineering team. Based in Milton Keynes. This is a new role within the business which will provide varying support across the entire product range of SWARCO in the UK. 

This role will require identification and qualification of alternatives and adjustments to the design and its supporting production package to allow updates to be made and released throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring the product(s) meet its overall performance criteria and to this end will require you to ensure product certification is maintained or updated often using external test resources such as optical, EMC, environmental and electrical safety test houses as well as your own internal verification testing.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure designs are maintained to ensure continued production
  • Identify alternative components where sourcing during the product lifecycle is no longer viable, this may include circuit adjustments
  • Supporting external certification testing such as optical, EMC, environmental and electrical safety
  • Minor circuit design changes to support design adjustments or resolve support issues
  • Provide hardware design support where required in the office and on location where required.
  • Assisting with specific customer configuration requirements requiring hardware design or verification

Technical experience in traffic products will be considered an advantage but is not strictly necessary.

What we are looking for

  • BEng Electronics or HNC/D or equivalent experience
  • Proficient working with electrical schematics, BOMS and PCB layout
  • Proficient in Use of Microsoft Office (O365)
  • Communications knowledge including RS485, RS232, Ethernet,Wifi
  • Literacy and Comprehension of Mechanical 2/3D Drawings
  • Proficient communication skills for a customer environment
  • Good at problem solving electronic and electrical designs
  • Use of test equipment oscilloscope, frequency counter, DMM, etc.
  • Communication knowledge - add WiFi
  • Full UK drivers license is essential
  • Right to live and work in the UK
