We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Fibre Technician Team Lead to join our team on DCC in Dublin.
Within this role you are responsible for leading the DCC Fibre technical team and team development, providing support to Dublin City Council fibre network department, being the first point of contact for Fibre tech team technical queries and to provide future fibre tech innovation for next generation of tech.
Key tasks include:
- The work will include connecting sites onto the SCATS system
- specifically including the programming and setting up of mobile communication units (Digi and Westermo or equivalent)
- connecting / maintaining AMG fibre transmission circuits as well as Juniper network managed switches
- working with Dublin City Council’s Fibre Optic Cable Network
- Lead day to day faults
- Schedule and drive upgrades and small projects.
What we are looking for
Essential
- Department of Education Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
- Computer literate
- Lead the field team, ability to work on own as well as part of a team
- Organised, trustworthy and self-motivated
- Full class B driving license
Desirable
- Fibre Optic Guild & Guilds 5 Certificate
- Experience of Installation & Termination of Fibre Optic Cables
- Maintenance of Fibre Optic Networks
- Experience in working with CCTV
- Computer Networking Skills (Advantageous)
