We have an amazing opportunity for a Junior Software Systems Test Engineer to join our Engineering Team. Please note this role is Milton Keynes/Hybrid so you must live within a commutable distance of the Milton Keynes offices as there will be some travel to the office to attend to the equipment etc. 

In this role, the Software Systems Test Engineer will be required to design, plan and test the MyCity platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies to cover functional, non-functional, and security testing
  • Design, create, and maintain detailed test cases and test scripts
  • Execute test cases manually and use automation tools to verify software functionality and performance
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and issues
  • Collaborate with development teams to reproduce, debug, and resolve identified issues
  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using appropriate tools
  • Automate test cases to increase test efficiency and coverage
  • Conduct performance testing to evaluate system response times, scalability, and load capacity
  • Analyse performance test results to identify bottlenecks and recommend optimizations
  • Work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure quality
  • Provide timely and accurate status reports on testing activities
  • Creating/updating product documentation and user manuals

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a Science related field
  • 1+ years of experience as a Software Test Engineer or similar role
  • Understanding of software development methodologies
  • Appreciation of test automation frameworks and tools
  • Experience with performance testing tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with scripting/programming languages
  • Knowledge of cloud-based testing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Ability to commute to the Milton Keynes office
  • Right to live and Work in the UK
