We have a very exciting opportunity for an Urban Services Director to join our growing ITS business in Ireland. 

As a member of the SWARCO Ireland Senior Management Team (SMT), you will work with other SMT members to deliver the Company’s objectives and maximise the financial performance through a fair and ethical approach, putting the best interests of SWARCO and its people at the heart of what you do, fully in line with the SWARCO Values.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead teams delivering key SWARCO contracts to customers in a profitable manner
  • Ensure that all works, and operations meet company, statutory and contractual requirements from start to completion
  • Resource Management: proactively manage capacity planning for urban service
  • Be able to problem solve and identify mitigating actions for any issues in capacity short and long term
  • Control projects and contracts to ensure the best interests of the company are maintained, financial and reputation
  • Deliver Customer satisfaction through delivery
  • Ensure Urban operational teams work collaboratively with all other Business Unit departments
  • Identify opportunities for growth and communicate these internally
  • Always ensure that your staff adhere to the current Legislation, Policies and Guidelines with regards to QHSSE

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Technical graduate or equivalent 3rd level qualifications in engineering or business 
  • Solid experience of running a busy installation & maintenance business
  • An appropriate level of experience of financial management. Ensuring timely delivery of high-profile contracts to a local authority client in a busy work environment
  • Proven ability to balance conflicting requirements to produce practical and effective solutions
  • Must be prepared to make balanced decisions based on fact not thought
  • Works well under pressure
  • Excellent prioritisation skills
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Competent in report formatting and writing
  • Must be IT literate with competency in Microsoft Office software
  • Has verbal skills including tact, diplomacy, and persuasion
  • Full driving licence
  • Right to Live and Work in Ireland - documentary proof will be required 

Desirable

  • Previous experience within the Traffic Control environment
  • Sound knowledge of the statutory obligations placed on maintenance and installation service providers
  • Ability to motivate, coach and/or mentor others to facilitate development of their own skills
  • Ability to identify clear succession potential in his/her team
