Description

PoGo Charge are currently seeking a Junior Cad Engineer/Junior Architectural Technician to join our team, assisting with the design of state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle (EV) charging bays and hubs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop efficient, functional, and visually appealing charging infrastructure tailored to the growing EV market in the UK. You must have previous experience iwith Auto CAD to be considered for this role. This role is home based.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Utilise Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create comprehensive architectural layouts for EV charging bays and hubs.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers and other professionals to ensure seamless integration of the charging infrastructure
  • Stay up to date with current regulations and ensure safety is a top priority
  • Produce accurate 2D layouts of existing sites, identifying potential obstacles and working to overcome these as you work through the proposal
  • Generate precise 3D models and renders to effectively communicate design concepts to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Participate actively in problem solving sessions and design meetings, contributing inventive ideas and solutions to optimise the layout, functionality, and user experience of the EV charging facilities.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulations concerning EV charging and sustainable design, and incorporate this knowledge into design proposals.
  • Work closely with pre construction managers to ensure timely completion of design phases
  • Review and refine designs based on feedback from clients, engineers, and other team members, ensuring the final plans align with all project objectives.
  • Maintain well-organised and up-to-date project files, CAD drawings, and related documentation.
  • Production of Planning documents for submission to Local Authorities

What we are looking for

  • Experience in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other relevant design tools
  • Previous experience in architectural design, preferably including projects related to EV charging infrastructure or sustainable design - an advantage
  • Sound comprehension of architectural principles, spatial planning, and building regulations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to accurately translate design concepts into technical drawings
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and convey design ideas to non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle charging technologies and their integration into architectural design is advantageous
  • Experience in Feasibility, Planning, Tender and Construction drawings is essential
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Microsoft Office skills/experience (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Precise attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Ability to manage workloads and meet demanding timescales
  • Able to prioritise and adapt to evolving project priorities and demands
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to travel to the office for quarterly meetings
