We have a new vacancy for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our fully funded, growing, Charge Point Operator business, PoGo Charge. The Legal Counsel will be responsible for supporting all legal activities. This primarily focuses on processing initial agreements (Heads of Terms) to final completion and developing a controlled ‘run rate’ of leases to support the growth plans of the PoGo network.
This role is Home Based on - however, there will be a requirement for travel to our offices in either Hemel Hempstead or London for monthly review meetings. There may also be occasional travel and client visits.
The role would have direct responsibility for recording, processing, and reporting on key legal tasks (detailed below) and lease activities.
Key responsibilities
- Handle legal tasks from initial agreements (Heads of Terms) to final completion
- Draft and review leases, sale agreements, and transfer deeds
- Conduct title due diligence and resolve issues
- Prepare detailed reports on title
- Manage legal aspects related to substations and Distribution Network Operators (DNO)
- Prepare land registry applications and property searches
- Manage tasks after exchange and completion, including land registry registrations and SDLT submissions
What we are looking for
- Degree or higher in law, with experience in commercial/property
- Strong communication skills and proactive problem-solving
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in commercial property law, especially in the energy/utilities sector
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with EV/CPO leases
- Experience with development agreements and contracts
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Full UK driving licence
