We have a vacancy for a Senior Installer to join our Field Engineering Services team based in Birmingham.
What you will do
The main purpose of this role is to install, refurbish or repair Highway Equipment to customer specifications and ensure contractual and Health and Safety obligations, terms and conditions are met. You will lead and guide installation staff in all aspects of their work, being ultimately responsible for the quality of the completed installation; ensuring variations to the contract are reported back to the supervisor in a timely fashion. Excellent organisational skills are required as the successful candidate will need to take control of a site and deliver the work on time, undertaking a clean hand-over to the customer.
Although predominantly based in the Midlands area, there may be a requirement from time to time to work in other Company locations which may involve overnight stays.
What we are looking for
Essential
- Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude
- Detailed understanding of traffic signal site installation and all the various manufacturers equipment
- Basic traffic signals theory (phases / stages / detection)
- Ability to work on own
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to organise a small team
- Full driving licence
- Safety awareness
- Safe manual handling skills
Desirable
- GCSE in English, Maths and Sciences to level C or above
- Experience in similar role working for a traffic signal company
- Understanding of local authority and civils contractors’ contracts
- IT literate (basic understanding of Word / Excel)
- Good leadership qualities
