We have an amazing opportunity for a Payroll Advisor to join our in-house payroll team. This is a really exciting time for the HR Team as we implement a new HRIS and bring the payroll function In-House. As the Payroll Advisor, you will work with the HR, Finance and Payroll functions to ensure the accurate and timely processing of the monthly salary payments to employees, including preparing all permanent and variable payroll data to submit to payroll for both the UK and Ireland. Hybrid working available after full training.
Key Tasks
- Working with the HR Operations Manager to ensure payroll data is processed accurately and within agreed timeframes
- Ensure the accurate completion of administration relating to HR and Payroll, including reports and day-to-day requirements
- Support the process of payroll year end, including P60s and P11D submissions to HMRC
- Provide first line support to managers and employees on payroll and pension related issues
- Process all information to enable the accurate management of the payroll system, incorporating starters and leavers
- Changes in personnel data, whether provided by government bodies, individuals, colleagues or others, must be noted with special attention, actioned and stored for future reference
- Record all documents within an appropriate filing system so that they can be fully audited by either internal or external bodies
- Provide data to various third parties as required by law or Company processes, such as HMRC, pension provider etc.
- Produce and/or issue to employees’ documents such as monthly payslip, HMRC forms, pension notifications etc…
- Provide reports to the HR Operations Manager so that the business can measure and analyse HR metrics, providing accurate and clear information to HR colleagues and/or relevant managers
- To assist in, and undertake, ad hoc projects as requested by the HR Operations Manager & the Head of HR, UK & Ireland
- Be responsible for your own continuing professional development.
What we are looking for
In order to fulfil the role successfully the following are some of the key skills and experience required:
Essential
- Good educational level with GCSE (or equivalent)
- Details and accuracy skills with understatement of tight deadlines
- Tech-savvy with primary understatement of MS Excel and all Microsoft office (certification from this programs or proven experience can be beneficial)
- Ability and willingness to learn
- Ideally previous experience in administration, and inhouse payroll processing
- Ability to deliver the best customer centrist behaviour
- Ability to commute to the Basingstoke office
- Approachable, Pragmatic and self-motivated
- Right to live and work in the UK
Desirable/Advantageous
Experience of processing and using statutory forms such as P45’s, P11D’s etc…
