Description

Due to new and exciting projects our Engineering team in SWARCO UK & Ireland have a vacancy for a Graduate Hardware Engineer to join us either in the Milton Keynes or Leicester office. 

As a Graduate Hardware Engineer you will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain partners to support the smooth transition of products and engineering changes from design to manufacture. You will provide ongoing product lifecycle support for existing and new products, including support for installation and maintenance activities, assessment of in-service product performance (reliability and fault analysis), and to propose modifications where appropriate.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Create cost effective solutions for new products, and modifications to existing products.
  • Undertake requirements analysis and capture, hardware design, design review and test activities.
  • Support the transition of products into manufacture.
  • Provide ongoing product lifecycle support for existing and new products.
  • Participation in project planning and progress reporting
  • Analysis of high level requirements in order to determine appropriate technical designs.
  • Preparation of hardware design specifications and test documentation.
  • Participation in Design Reviews.
  • Conduct system level testing, including visiting test labs and/or Site Acceptance Tests.
  • Promptly report to the Project Manager any significant event that may have a serious affect on the development deliverables or live system operations.
  • Develop personal and professional skills in accordance with the needs of the Company.

What we are looking for

  • BSc /Eng degree in related engineering subject
  • HNC/D in related engineering subject.
  • Proficient in the use of schematics and PCB design Tools (Altium), including circuit simulation.
  • Creative with innovative ideas
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to deal with peers, directors and customers alike
  • Excellent time and project management skills
