Description

SWARCO Smart Charging is looking for a passionate and capable Compliance Manager to work within our project delivery team. The role will consist of assisting the projects team to ensure that all installations are carried out in line with current health and safety legislation and electrical regulations.

This role is home-based with regular travel across the country for site surveys and meetings with the team in Hemel Hempstead.

Your Challenge

  • Always ensure that staff adhere to the current Legislation Policies and Guidelines with regards to QHSSE.
  • Support Project Managers to ensure that all works, and operations meet company, statutory and contractual requirements from start to completion.
  • Production and review of Health and Safety documentation (RAMS, CPP ect).
  • Ensure all project documentation is in line with the companies IMS policy.
  • Be the focal point for the HSSE contractor screening process including risk ranking, evaluation, and ongoing auditing of contractors.
  • Assist with the management of sub-contractors focusing on H&S and QA.
  • Work with the Design Manager to ensure all installations are carried out in line with current electrical standards.
  • Carry out on site H&S audits on subcontractors.
  • Undertake meetings as appropriate with the team member’s prestart, post and during build. Be an integral member during de-brief meetings to understand best practice to increase productivity, margin and revenue as well as promoting a “can do” – “right first time” approach to works.
  • Monitor emerging EV regulation and promote upskilling an knowledge of the team.
  • Carry out on site quality audits post installation.

Your Profile

  • Professional HSSE status (NEBOSH or equivalent)
  • Previous experience managing H&S within a construction environment and SMSTS Accreditation is advantageous
  • Proven HSSE experience, preferably with some exposure to operations & contractor activities
  • Strong CDM knowledge and experience
  • Experience in leadership and working in roles providing support across a diverse range of activities to several different stakeholders
  • Strong networking, facilitation and influencing skills required
  • A healthy interest in new technology such as EV Charging and Renewables would be advantageous.
  • Excellent self-organisational, planning, and time management skills
  • Microsoft Office skills/experience (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Commercial awareness of the impact of health and safety
  • Ability to manage workloads and meet demanding timescales.
  • Able to prioritise and adapt to evolving project priorities and demands.
  • Electrical knowledge will be appreciated, but not necessary
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
