Description

We have a new vacancy for a Regional Operations Manager to join our Field Engineering team in Leicester or Birmingham.

Your Challenge

  • Ensure commercial contracts and arrangements are reviewed, positively risk assessed, in line with company requirements and dealt with in accordance with company process.
  • Ensure that all works are only conducted once there is an agreed form of written contract in place between the company and the customer.
  • Ensure that all works, and operations meet company, statutory and contractual requirements from start to completion.
  • Control projects and contracts to ensure the best interests of the company are maintained, financial and reputation.
  • Ensure that Customer satisfaction is always maintained.
  • Ensure Urban operational teams work collaboratively with all other Business Unit departments.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and communicate these internally.
  • Always ensure that your staff adhere to the current Legislation, Policies and Guidelines with regards to QHSSE.
  • Manage & develop financial performance of contracts including monitoring budgets to ensure targets are met.
  • Ensure that all contract documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • To ensure that reports, applications, and invoicing are accurately raised within deadlines.
  • Maximise variations on all contracts and projects to achieve optimum financial results.
  • Improve the skill levels within your Team.
  • Manage and liaise with various sub-contractors to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Market the activities of the business effectively.
  • Liaise and regularly meet with customers to monitor and manage progress on contracts, whilst meeting contractual obligations ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving customer complaints in a timely, efficient manner.

Your Profile

Essential

  • Equivalent to GCSE Level in English and Mathematics.
  • Solid experience (at least 5 years) of running a busy installation & maintenance business.
  • An appropriate level of experience of financial management. Ensuring timely delivery of high-profile contracts to either a local authority or civil contractor client in busy work environments.
  • Proven ability to balance conflicting requirements to produce practical and effective solutions.
  • Must be prepared to make balanced decisions based on fact not thought.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Excellent prioritisation skills.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Competent in report formatting and writing.
  • Must be IT literate with competency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Has verbal skills including tact, diplomacy, and persuasion.
  • Full driving licence.

Desirable

  • Equivalent to GCSE in Information Technology.
  • Previous experience within the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) environment.
  • Sound knowledge of the statutory obligations placed on maintenance and installation service providers.
  • Ability to motivate, coach and/or mentor others to facilitate development of their own skills.
  • Ability to identify clear succession potential in his/her team.
  • Sector 8 accredited.
