Description

We have a requirement for a Software QA Engineer to join our very busy team. This role will be home-based.

What you will do

  • Implement, document and test software solutions
  • Daily work in an agile environment, develop and optimise processes and best practices
  • Testing at module, integration, and system levels, including support for acceptance testing
  • Fixing bugs and issues found in the solution
  • Help drive the future direction of the solution
  • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures
  • Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
  • Identify, analyse, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content
  • Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
  • Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards
  • Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
  • Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments
  • Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
  • Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks
  • Identify program deviance from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance
  • Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness
  • Design or develop automated testing tools
  • Perform initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code pieces to determine breakdown source

Key Skills

  • Be productive with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of tools including git, Jira / Confluence, experience with Docker / Kubernetes
  • Good communication skills, problem solving, team player
  • Able to review the work of others and provide feedback and mentoring where appropriate
  • Knowledge and experience of unit and integration testing
  • Self-sufficiency: initiative, time management, multi-tasking

Your Profile

Essential

  • Experience in automated test coding for PHP/Drupal, Java and Python.
  • Gitlab toolchain
  • Experience using Linux (desktop / server admin).
  • Experience with cloud hosting environments, including AWS, Azure and Linode. 

 Desirable

  • Knowledge of EV industry or OCPP
