Description

I have an opportunity for a Head of Operations to join APT Skidata. 

This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation of corporate strategic direction in the area of field support operations, installations and high level support. It is also responsible for ensuring that efficiencies of scale are realised in field operations with a shared P&L responsibility. This position will oversee the implementation of best practices throughout the organisation. Other operational responsibilities include oversight of: Budgeting, Strategic Planning and Company Customer Support. 

The role would have direct responsibility for Contract Base, Customer Service, Service Desk, Field based operations (service and install), Purchasing, Tech Support and Customer Support.

Your Challenge

  • Responsible for overseeing the maximising of efficiencies of scale of Field Operations
  • Responsible for evaluating and ensuring appropriate field operational structures
  • Responsible for coordinating overall implementation of BEST practices throughout the structure
  • Provides regular analysis of P&L
  • Manages Service Desk ensuring optimum field support
  • Participates and supports annual appraisal process for all Operations Staff
  • Participates regularly in special projects as required by the MD
  • Oversee Health & Safety of all staff including HO based staff, Engineers
  • Regular rhythms with the staff within the designated regions.
  • Institute processes and procedures that will show improvements in service delivery and productivity of staff within the designated regions
  • Constant contact with our customers to handle all issues, receiving feedback on our performance and to discuss performance improvement processes
  • Ensure we maximise our Labour recovery, by accurate input of data into the company ERP system, (i.e. timesheets to be completed for all staff within the regions)
  • Attendance of required rhythm meetings and conference calls
  • Oversee management of subcontractors (including spend) and other members of the organisation (including Manufacturers and Suppliers) to meet delivery targets or required equipment
  • Understanding of the opposition strategy and keep informed on technology developments within our product areas
  • Communicate a clear vision of the future direction and role of the team
  • Monitoring and reduction of Operating Costs and working within agreed budgets
  • Oversee staff development and training
  • To control the day-to-day management of field based engineers and meet the needs of our customers

Your Profile

  • General business knowledge
  • Specific and detailed knowledge of managing a Field Based Operation
  • Knowledge and experience in creating competitive advantage through a service organisation
  • Ability to create a performance based organisation through the use of metrics, processes and systems
  • Ability to leverage I.T. to create a productive and accountable organisation
  • Ability to recruit, train and develop teams and individuals
  • Considerable interpersonal and management skills
  • Specific knowledge of accepted accounting practices and procedures
  • Ability to meet company standards as set forth in the employee handbook
  • Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing at all levels in the organisation
  • Skills or experience with personal computers, including email, personal scheduling, word processing and electronic spreadsheet skills. Client liaison and customer focus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • PC literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Costs accounting
  • Able to work under pressure and make important decisions and abide by them
  • Ability to make decisions based upon technical expertise and use of teams knowledge
  • A broad knowledge of products, able to manage assigned team members within the frame of a contract and experience of working with suppliers and customers
  • Good administration and coordination skills
  • Dealing with sub-contractors
  • Generation of reports
  • Good motivational acumen and drive. Intelligent thinker, strategic planner, focussed and priority driven
  • Strong personal influencing and communication skills.
  • Strong motivation to achieve, well organised and structured approach
  • Excellent organisation skills – managing a team
  • Effective communicator both internal and external to APT SkiData
  • Experience in customer service management required
  • Experience in overall management required
  • Field Operations, Inventory and Service experience preferred
