Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse/Stores Operative to join our very busy team based in Hemel Hempstead. We are looking for someone who will thrive in the stores environment and who is not worried about rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in!! You must live within a commutable distance of our office/stores in Hemel Hempstead Industrial Estate. 

The main purpose of the Warehouse Operative is to control the handling of all materials through the Stores area including and not limited to:

  • The receipt and inspection of all goods
  • Storage of stock by location
  • The issuing of stock against the appropriate documentation
  • Packaging goods for despatch
  • Forklift driving
  • Assist in workshop duties as required (both as general help and overall learning towards flexibility in both areas

As the Warehouse Operative you will also be responsible for:

  • Off loading incoming goods
  • Checking parts are not damaged
  • Checking parts delivered match advice notes
  • Checking quantity delivered matches advice notes
  • Contact supplier to resolve issues from above
  • Checking advice notes match APT purchase orders
  • Inputting receipt of parts on computer
  • Storing parts by location
  • Ensuring all parts are handled and stored in such a manner as to avoid damage
  • Printing spares orders
  • Issuing parts for engineers, spares orders and production
  • Input delivery cost on spares orders
  • Transfer (on computer) spares orders to invoice
  • Ensure all goods despatched are adequately packaged
  • Resolve customer delivery issues
  • Maintain log on computer of despatched parts
  • Operating and controlling the repair cycle for returned parts
  • Maintaining a tidy and organised stores
  • Filing documentation
  • Stock counting
  • Carry out all reasonable requests by management

Specific areas of knowledge & experience required:

  • Experience and understanding of computerised stock control
  • Forklift driving licence
  • Ability to work both as part of a small team and unsupervised
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive “can do” attitued
  • Right to live and work in the UK at time of employment
